Composition

Cl.perfringens alpha toxoid : ≥ %80 PD 1

Cl.perfringens beta toxoid : ≥ 10 IU /ml β- antitoxin 2

Cl.perfringens epsilon toxoid : ≥ 5 IU /ml ε- antitoxin 2

Cl.novyi alpha toxoid   : ≥ 3,5 IU/ml α- antitoxin 2

Cl.septicum alpha toxoid  : ≥ 2,5 IU/ml α- antitoxin 2

Cl.chauvoei master culture : ≥ %90 protection 3

Cl.sordelli alpha toxoid   : ≥ 1 IU/ml α- antitoxin 2

Cl.tetani toxoid   :   ≥ 2,5 IU te anus antitoxin 2

Pasteurella multocida type I : ≥ %80 PD 4

Indications

The vaccine is applied for active immunization against Enterotoxaemia (Lamb dysentery; Pulpy Kidney Disease; Struck), Infectious Necrotic Hepatitis (black disease), Oedematiens, Gas gangrene, Blackleg disease, Braxy (Malignant Edema), Tetanus, Shipping fever and Pasteurella pneumonia.

Contraindications

The vaccine is not applied on sick animals with any disease.

Administration and Dosage

  • The vaccine injected after warming up in room tempera- ture (15-25°C) and well mixed before use.
  • The vaccine is applied to arm pit, un-woolly area for sheep/goat and from neck for cattle by subcutaneously way.
  • Each dose of vaccine is:

Cattle and calves (more than 3 months old):  4 ml

Calves (less than 3 months old):      2 ml

Sheep/goats (more than 45 Kg):      2 ml

Lambs/kids (up to 45 kg):         1 ml

  • On NOT previously vaccinated animals with Polivac Cl, primary vaccination should be boosted with the same dose after 14-21 days.
  • Animals should be revaccinated once yearly.
  • Full protection occurred within 6-8 weeks following the booster vaccination and continues a year.

Notes

  • In the regions with a prevalence of liver parasite infesta- tion, it is recommend using NECROVAC-P, six months after booster.
  • In the areas with high Pasteurellosis outbreaks, it is recommend using Hemopast-B six months after booster.
  • In pregnant animals, booster in the 2nd pregnancy period, with cautions, confers a passive protection for their offspring during their first trimester of life.
  • Young animals which born from vaccinated mothers, should be vaccinated from their 8th weeks of age and booster 14-21 days after.
  • Young animals which born from unvaccinated mothers, should be vaccinated from their 2nd weeks of age and booster 14-21 days after.

Precautions

  • Vaccine bottle must be shacked at injection time, regularly.
  • Opened bottle of vaccine should be used at the same day.
  • The applicator should be observed rules of asepsis and antisepsis.
  • Sterilized syringes and needles should be used for administration of the vaccine.

Warning

It advised not to vaccinate goats at the last month of pregnancy.

Side Effects

  • On rare occasions, anaphylactic shock or hypersensi- tive reactions occurred use antiadrenergic and antihista- minic treatment to get reactions under control.
  • Milk production may be reduced for up to 6 days after vaccination and subsequently return to normal.

Storage and Transport Conditions

  • The vaccine is stored and transported at 2-8°C (refrig- erator conditions).
  • Do not freeze. Protect from heat and sunlight.

Withdrawal Period

28 days after vaccination.

Shelf life

2 years after production date under recommended storage conditions.

Presentation

The vaccine packaged in bottles of 50, 100, 250 and 300 ml.

Destruction Conditions

The vaccine is autoclaved without open the contents at 121°C for 30 minutes and discarded to cesspool. If destruction will make in environment conditions; half and empty vials are boiled in water for 5 minutes and then buried to soil.
